Mainsgill Farm Shop is located 4.5 miles west of Scotch Corner next to the main A66 Trans-Pennine route.
They sell their our own meats and poultry, as well as other produce from local suppliers.
Mainsgill Farm Shop has over 20,000 sq ft of space with a tearoom, and a farm shop with butchery and gift shop. It provides employment for 50 local staff.
Mainsgill Farm is known for it’s Grass Fed Beef. Their heifers are bought in at 6 months of age from local farmers within a few miles of Mainsgill Farm.
They prefer heifers because they produce the best beef. The grass fed heifers are allowed to roam the fields until winter comes, when the cattle are then brought inside and fed silage (fermented grass).
The beef is hung on the bone for 28 days to allow it to mature before butchery. Then it’s sold directly to their customers in the farm shop, meaning they can offer the highest quality produce at an affordable price.
