The Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop was founded by the Duchess of Devonshire in 1977 to sell beef, and lamb from the estate farms and venison from the park.
The idea was to sell Chatsworth’s produce directly to local customers who wanted to eat great quality, locally grown food.
Over half the products sold in Chatsworth farm shop are produced or prepared on the Estate.
Most of the rest comes from tenant farms and from local food producers around Derbyshire. A few other essentials come from further afield, (from the UK whenever possible).
In recent years estate farm shop has developed and diversified to include these popular departments.
- Butcher’s and fresh fish counters
- Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables
- A well-stocked delicatessen and patisserie
- A great selection of wines, beers and soft drinks
We are dedicated to protecting and nurturing the family run working farm heritage and so the philosophy remains today.
